Let's steal you away from my Singapore posts for a while and feast your eyes upon these delicious food prepared by Le Midi Restaurant at Bangsar Shopping Centre.
I was invited to accompany Doug for a food feature at Le Midi. They were doing it for an issue on Autogridz and I am glad I got to taste their uniquely crafted dishes which I thought were delicious. Unfortunately though, I went over to their website and most of these food we've tasted that day didn't seem to be on their menu anymore. Hence, this is a food post where it is purely pictures of food. Perhaps this will then give you an idea of what kind of food they serve.
"Whether you seek a long, luxurious dinner, a swift yet satisfying lunch or simply a chilled place to enjoy a drink after a long day, Le Midi is an ideal location in which to let your cares melt away as you indulge in a true taste of Mediterranean hospitality and cuisine." - Le Midi
Took a picture with lovely Sharmayne. Always a pleasure to be around her. :)

Totally Thai | Scott Garden
If you're along Old Klang Road and you're stuck in a jam during dinner time, perhaps you can take a turn towards Scott Garden for a simple Thai meal.
The only Thai restaurant in Scott Garden, Totally Thai serves authentic Thai dishes like Pattaya Fried Rice, Pineapple Fried Rice, Tom Yum Soup, Beef Soup, Mango Salad - well, just to name the few from their menu and rest assured that they are reasonably priced. Unless, they've up their prices after the RM0.20/litre petrol price hike.
A few of the dishes we ordered that day :
Green Curry Chicken, Pineapple Fried Rice, Seafood Tom Yum, Mango Salad & Stir Fried Broccoli. All between the four of us but I only had the fried rice because I was coughing. Didn't want to irritate my throat with anything spicy.
The verdict, the rest enjoyed their food but I thought my fried rice wasn't delicious. The taste became a little monotonous after a few bites. As for the Green Curry, thumbs up from the rest. Tom Yum was a on the tomato-er side. Mango Salad was good and Broccoli tasted like .. well, stir fried Broccoli.
HAPPY FRIDAY!

A track record that dates back at least 40 years and a brand identity that is instantly recognisable is the minimum criteria for any brand to be at Lot 10 Hutong." - Lot 10 Hutong
I didn't manage to visit their website to get any info on what's the best of the best to eat and I was in need of lunch immediately (3pm then), so I had Doug order me Claypot Lou Shu Fun. It turned out to be the best claypot lou shu fun I've ever had! It had that burnt flavor any Chinese would crave for in any claypot dish. Like the classic dry lou shu fun you usually find in a coffee shop, it was made with three signature sauces ; soya, dark and soya sauce. I didn't fancy eating raw egg so when my pot arrived, I covered the egg with the noodles and let it cook for a while. One pot like that costs RM10+ where else you can easily get one outside for half the price but something like that is usually overlooked when one can dine in a luxury food court.
Doug ordered Claypot Chicken Rice with fried egg (he can never miss a meal without a piece of fried egg) which was roughly the same price as my pot. I had a taste of it and it wasn't too bad. He really liked it though and mentioned that he didn't know Claypot Chicken Rice can be that good!
An aunty with a trolley filled with dim sum stopped next to where I was sitting. I love dim sum! So, I ended up getting one serving of Siu Mai and Braised Chicken Feet which came up to RM14 for both! Got a shock of my life there when she told me the total. For that price, I can actually order 5 plates of dim sum at my usual dim sum place. Didn't want to look like a fool, I reluctantly gave her the cash and quietly cursed myself for being too greedy. Ah well! Dim sum tasted good anyhow but it wasn't thattttt good that it was worth RM7 a plate.
Walked around the food court after we were done to take some pictures of the place. Here are some of the stalls they have :
Although the food is slightly pricier than the average roadside stalls, locals and tourists still flock in for the best of the best and the place was still packed with people even when it was at 3pm. Live to Eat!
Oh, and why did I go all the way to Lot 10 for lunch that day? What else! H&M of course! LOL. Bagged these pieces after I've tried like 14 pieces of clothing. Gah!!

That Latte Place | Ampang
Everyone was raving about this place called That Latte Place which serves really good breakfast and coffee. That got me excited! Went hunting for this place on Sunday to have our late lunch and did not have any trouble finding the location, thanks to past reviews of the place where accurate directions were given.
That Latte Place is located along Persiaran Ritchie, tucked inside a far corner of Pusat Seni dan Galeri. Set amidst trees and a little park way, tables and chairs with sun shades are placed just a few feet from the stall and if you are sun shy, there's always a covered area to seat comfortably.
The owner is a friendly guy who takes joy out of making coffee and food for his customers. Although, the menu isn't as extensive as some restaurants or cafe, That Latte Place serves decent breakfast meals from as low as RM8.
It was 3pm and I was dying of hunger so I opted for the biggest breakfast they have, which was the Hearty Breakfast at RM17.90 which included scrambled eggs and mushrooms on butter toast, a side of baked beans, 2 chicken sausages - which was very good, grilled tomatoes, baked potato cubes (a little undercooked, actually) and hash browns.
Doug ordered the Double House Egg Ben, which had the meanest Egg Benedicts (according to him). The yolk was cooked to perfection and he enjoyed his lunch - ALOT. Also came with baked potatoes and grilled tomatoes at RM17.90.
No meal should ever be complete without a cup of coffee. So, we ordered a cup of Cappuccino RM8 and Flat White RM8. I thought that my cup of cappuccino was alright. Wouldn't say that their coffee is great because I still prefer Podgy's. Perhaps for those who aren't too choosy with their coffee would love having a cup or two at That Latte Place and who wouldn't when the ambiance of the area is super relaxing.

Happy MALAYSIA Day!
What is Malaysia Day? It's definitely not Merdeka Day. Merdeka is our Independence Day. Malaysia Day is when we officially formed Malaysia. Geddit? Actually it is just another one of our many public holidays and it keeps us Malaysians happy. LOL.
It was a 3 day weekend for us and many have taken this opportunity to travel. I wish I had enough money to travel once every single month but this weekend, was a stay in-the-country for us.
Drove about 20mins to Klang for lunch at Kee Heong Bah Kut Teh. It was my first time there and also, my first time having Klang Bah Kut Teh. I now know why people drive all the way to Klang just to have a pot of Bah Kut Teh because I used to think that it was such an absurd thing to do when we do have really nice Bah Kut Teh restaurants here in Kuala Lumpur. If you've not had Bah Kut Teh in Klang before, perhaps you should one day.
Took a trip over to Setia Alam Mall because the homies wanted to chill there. Had coffee at Starbucks and did some shopping at H&M - my absolute FAVOURITE shop! and bagged home a pair of sneakers, coint purse, and a 5pair-pack socks. Pleaseeeee, let there be no more public holidays! I tend to go crazy on shopping during public holidays. I've no idea why!?
Doug wanted chendol on the way home, so we dropped by our usual chendol stall in Taman Yarl. Awesome chendol, if you must know. :D
AND I cooked grilled chicken chop for the first time because I've been looking high and low for a cut like that for so damn long and AEON at Midvalley doesn't have them. So happened we stumbled across it while doing groceries at Urban Fresh before we headed home in Setia Alam Mall.
Decided to call this Grilled Red Wine Paprika Chicken Chop and made Mashed Potatoes to serve as a side.
Promised to blog about my recipe, so here it is :
SERVES 2
Marinate (2 hours)
Chicken Chop 3 pieces
Salt 2 tea spoons
Black Pepper 3 tea spoons
Paprika Powder 3 tea spoons
Sesame Oil 2 tea spoons
Dried Rosemary 2 tea spoons
Butter 2 table spoons
Olive Oil 1 table spoon
Garlic 3 cloves
Fresh Thyme 2 stalks
Red Wine 1 dash
Heat grilling pan on medium fire. Melt 1 table spoon butter and add garlic. Once garlic turns light brown, add thyme and place chicken skin down on garlic and thyme. Cook for 5mins. Turn chicken over, add 1 table spoon butter (separate onto each chicken) and grill for another 4mins. Place chicken onto plate, add a dash of red wine into pan juice, shimmer for 1 min and pour over chicken. Serve immediately.
If you've tried it, let me know how it goes! Have fun :)
